Too Big

My little 1st grader is growing up too quickly! He is reading and spelling like crazy. We are so proud of how well he is doing with school. No matter how old he acts, though, he still has little kid feelings. Tonight he was concerned about having a scar on his ankle. He got up from bed to tell us he was worried about it. Monty and I both showed him some scars and explained that it was just part of growing up. Anyway, Monty told him how no one would notice it and that if they did they would say "cool!" Austin said "no one says cool, Dad." What do they say? "They gasp." I absolutely had to hold my mouth to keep from laughing out loud. What you should know about the scar is how he got it. He was playing golf with his Dad and for some unknown reason, he was getting into the cart while it was moving. He slipped and, lo and behold, Dad runs over his foot. You have no idea how upset "the mama" was when they came home. Bless his heart!
